CCI Elects New President-Elect and Board Members |
DENVER, CO (Jan. 9, 2007)—The Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) recently announced that Nancy Lilliott, RN, NP, CNOR, CRNFA will serve as the organization’s President Elect in 2007.
Joining Lilliott on CCI’s Board of Directors in 2007 are new directors Nancy Ann Di Cicco, RN, MSN, CNOR and Dawn M. Yost, RDH, RN, BSN, CNOR, both elected by their fellow certificants during the organization’s annual elections. Connie L. Moser will continue to serve as CCI’s Secretary/Treasurer.
“We are excited and honored to serve with such distinguished and dedicated certificants,” Laura S. Kerby, RN, BSN, CNOR, CCI’s current president, said. “I join my fellow Board members when I say that we look forward to working with our new President Elect and directors and will draw on their expertise to continue the tremendous growth CCI has enjoyed.”
Lilliott has served as a board director since 2005 and also serves as the CRNFA test development liaison. She works as an adult nurse practitioner/RNFA with Tri-City Orthopaedic Surgery Medical Group in Oceanside, CA. She has held many roles with CCI including working on the CRNFA Test Specifications, Item Writing, Form Review and Cut Score Committees.
Di Cicco is the Perioperative Educator at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Mass. She has been a perioperative nurse for 33 years and a CNOR for more than 22 years. Her CCI experience includes serving on several committees and as a CCI Champion.
“As a CNOR I have a commitment to my career, providing the best and safest quality patient care according to standards of practice, which support professional credibility and accountability,” Di Cicco said. “I value my certification and I am proud to sign my name with CNOR to follow.”
Yost has been the Perioperative Nurse Clinician/Preceptor at West Virginia University Hospital for almost five years. She began her perioperative nursing career more than 24 years ago and has been certified for the past 16 years. Her CCI experience includes service on various committees and as a CCI Champion.
“Being professionally responsible is a characteristic I value very highly. I believe that being certified gives the RN the confidence to stand strong to provide quality patient care,” Yost said. “As a board member, I hope to work with the other leaders to continue to provide enthusiastic service to CCI and to help promote competent, safe, quality perioperative patient care.”
The new directors will begin their official service following the AORN Congress in March 2007. Lilliot will serve as President Elect until Congress in 2008 and will then serve as President through Congress 2009.
