Director of Credentialing & Education Appointed as ANSI Accreditation Reviewer |
DENVER, CO (August 11th, 2006)—Mary O’Neale, RN, MN, CNOR, CCI’s Director of Credentialing and Education, was recently appointed as an accreditation reviewer for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) personnel certification accreditation program (ISO-17024).
O’Neale has been an active staff member in CCI’s accreditation activities for its certification programs that include approval from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS).
“I was honored to be asked to participate in this training,” O’Neale said. “I know how important it is to have high quality standards for certification exams to be measured against. The training I received gave me the tools, knowledge, and skills to be a successful assessor.”
She participated in a week-long training program in Washington, DC to become more familiar with the details of ANSI’s accreditation requirements. O’Neale is considered a “generalist” with broad knowledge of certification. She will partner with a psychometrician to review applications and conduct on-site evaluations to determine if the applicant complies with ANSI’s standards, which specifically focus on bodies that certify persons.
