Willingness-to-Serve Form


The willingness-to-serve form provides CCI with information on your interest and eligibility for the various leadership opportunities. This form is applicable to credentialed surgical nurses only; we will be looking for our next public member in 2010.

We thank you for your interest and participation, and we look forward to building a vision together for the future of healthcare, where all patients experience extraordinary care.

The application and postmark deadline to apply for a position is May 1, 2008
Applications received at this time will be reviewed for consideration at the Summer 2008 Board Meeting, and terms begin in 2009.


CCI Board of Directors

  • Length of Term: Three years
  • Service Period: Begins after the AORN Congress Meeting (March/April) concludes, immediately following the election.
  • Activities: Three 3-day face-to-face meetings per year; 6 to 8 hours of independent work per month; board committee work as assigned; email correspondence weekly.

Application Process:

1. Read board characteristics, experience requirements, responsibilities
2. Complete the willingness-to-serve form
3. Print and attach the following:
  • CV or resume
  • Summary statement (100 words or less on a separate page) describing why you want to serve as a public member of the CCI Board of Directors, and how you would contribute to CCI's mission to ensure that innovative methods are in place for the continued competency assessment of healthcare providers.
  • Summary statement (100 words or less on a separate page) describing how your skills and experience match our leadership characteristics.
