CCI Champion Program Charter
The CCI Champion Program is comprised of CNOR- and CRNFA-certified nurses who share a commitment to promoting professional development and competency in practice that promote patient safety within the surgical and broader healthcare environments.This select group of nurses is a central resource
for CCI’s credentialing and competency products and services. Champions provide inspiration and motivation for professional development and promote certification and competency in the workplace. CCI Champions also act as a communications channel for us as we develop innovative new products and services and pursue a leadership role in competency with a personal commitment to extraordinary care.
Champion Checklist of Responsibilities
CCI Champions have the following volunteer responsibilities. Please review each section in its entirety.
_____ Actively participate in a grassroots network of certified nurses who advance the cause of certification and competency development in the surgical and healthcare environments.
Distribute information related to certification, competency assessment and competency education.
Use the CCI website to (1) communicate with fellow Champions to share ideas and best practices for recruiting CNOR and CRNFA applicants and (2) access the latest Champion information, tools, and resources, as well as CCI news and events.
Serve as the local resource for accurate information related to certification and competency assessment and competency education. Maintain awareness of the latest CCI products and services and share that information with peers and colleagues.
Read and share news and information received from CCI.
Look for professional venues (hospital in-service programs, AORN Perioperative Nursing Week, AORN chapters, and state councils) at which to promote certification and other CCI competency products and services.
_____ Promote a shared value system that includes a commitment to patient safety, collaboration,
professional development, and performance in accordance with practice standards.
_____ Provide mentoring and leadership within your environment.
Inspire others to achieve certification.
Help others identify professional and volunteer opportunities that enhance their growth and development.
Serve as a positive role model for individual nurses, particularly those new to the profession.
_____ Help CCI understand how we can continually improve the quality and accessibility of our products and services.
Respond and promote responses to surveys and other requests for information from CCI.
Share feedback from local peers and colleagues with CCI Headquarters.
Contribute to the data used to assist the CCI Board of Directors in their strategic decision-making process.
