CCI Announces 2007 Election Results

CCI is proud to announce that Nancy Lilliott, RN, NP, CNOR, CRNFA will serve as the organization’s President Elect in 2007. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2005 and also serves as the CRNFA test development liaison.  Lilliott has served on the CRNFA Test Specifications, Item Writing, Form Review and Cut Score Committees.

Joining Lilliott on CCI’s Board of Directors in 2007 are new directors Nancy Ann Di Cicco, RN, MSN, CNOR and Dawn M. Yost, RDH, RN, BSN, CNOR, both elected by their fellow certificants during the organization’s annual elections. Connie L. Moser will continue to serve as CCI’s Secretary/Treasurer.

“We are excited and honored to serve with such distinguished and dedicated certificants,” Laura S. Kerby, RN, BSN, CNOR, CCI’s current president, said.  “I join my fellow Board members when I say that we look forward to working with our new President Elect and directors and will draw on their expertise to continue the tremendous growth CCI has enjoyed.”

Di Cicco and Yost have demonstrated experience for CCI and within the nursing industry including service on various committees and as CCI Champions. The new directors will begin their official service following the AORN Congress in March 2007. Lilliot will serve as President Elect until Congress in 2008 and will then serve as President through 2009.

Web site for New Certificate Program Up & Running

CCI will launch its Certificate Program for Surgical Services Managers later this year. The program is the first of its kind offering candidates the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and ability to function in a management role. It also provides an avenue for employers to reward employees that are dedicated to continued learning and professional development and the modules build your professional library.

• The registration deadline for the paper & pencil examination on March 10^th during AORN Congress is January 26^th.  Download the CNOR application here and the CRNFA application here. 
• The next deadline to apply for the CNOR and CRNFA examination is February 28, 2007. Click here for more information. Forward this email reminder and link to a colleague considering certification.  You can also remind colleagues or employers about the value of certification by downloading this “Every Patient – Every Day” poster.
• Mark your calendars for the Certification Oasis at the 54^th AORN Congress, March 11 – 15 in Orlando, FL. Visit AORN for more information on Congress. The Oasis Lounge will be open at the 2007 AORN Congress during the following times/hours: Sunday, March 11 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Monday, March 12 through Wednesday, March 14 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  We look forward to seeing you there!
• Are you due to recertify this year? If so, your recertification application was mailed to you on January 4^th, 2007. If you do not receive it by the end of January and you are due to recertify in 2007 please contact CCI Headquarters at 888-257-2667 or via email at info@cc-institute.org. The 2007 recertification deadline for CNORs and CRNFAs is July 2, but it is never too early to start planning. • CCI and AORN have officially separated their networks and databases. If your address has changed or if you want to verify that CCI has your current address email us at info@cc-institute.org. This will ensure that recertification materials and other items of importance are delivered without delay.
