CCI to Establish Independent Certificant
Database
CCI and our member
organization partner, AORN, work closely together in many ways. We
have similar missions and serve many of the same customers. While we
work in partnership on many activities and have thousands of shared
customers, we are separately governed and managed.
Historically, CCI and
AORN have shared a customer database. That has been beneficial in
some areas and has in general served us well for many years.
However, it has become necessary to now separate these databases for
both strategic and operational reasons.
So what does this
separation of databases mean to you? As a CNOR or CRNFA, it is
important that you maintain accurate records with CCI so that we can
communicate with you about the status of your credential or any
change in eligibility requirements. Therefore you will need to
remember the following:

When you change
your address with AORN you will need to do so separately with
CCI.

For those of you
who have established a CCI profile, your CCI username and password
will remain the same. For those of you with an AORN username and
password, it will continue to be the
same.
This information is
also available online.
We
will use email efforts to communicate any further impact of this
change. We expect it to be fully implemented by the end of the

CCI offers a variety of competency assessment
modules to help certificants expand their knowledge and skill
set. The “Age Specific
Care” module identifies
key age-specific competencies required by the registered nurse
caring for patients at each life stage. It defines the special needs
and behaviors of specific age groups and helps the nurse assess

for promoting optimum patient outcomes.
