Program Highlights
CCI's newest educational offering focuses on developing and refining skills that are essential to the surgical services educator and/or staff development director. Based on the results of our findings from a national survey of surgical services educators, the program is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and ability to function in this role regardless of experience level or educational background. This certificate program provides easy-to-use tools to develop and implement quality, cost effective orientation and professional development opportunities for perioperative staff.
The content of the Certificate Program for Surgical Services Educators is focused on seven general areas, including:
- Leadership and Organizational Behavior
- Teaching/Learning Principles
- Instructional Design
- Evaluations and Outcomes
- Staff Development
- Facilitation and Collaboration
- Creating a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice
In place of an exam, applicants will complete and submit activities which integrate content in the modules to clinical practice. Applicants who successfully complete all activities at the end of each module will earn a certificate of mastery and continuing education credit. view the steps to earning the certificate and the overview of Certificate Program Activities for details on earning the certificate.
