Research |
CCI believes strongly that certification has value – that it contributes to a higher level of patient care. That belief is an intuitive one – based on shared experience and our understanding of the credentialing process. We are continuing our efforts to solidify that belief into research-based fact by conducting a multiphase study into the value of certification. The results of our research have been published in the December 2002 issue of Nursing Outlook.
CCI is also participating in a similar research effort under the auspices of the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS), whose research committee will investigate, across nursing specialties, the impact and value of certification. The question of certification’s impact on patient outcomes is being asked by many inside and outside the credentialing community. CCI is proud to be doing its part both independently and as a member of ABNS to find a research-based answer.
CCI has contracted with leaders in the industry to create a psychometrically valid and reliable instrument. View this survey tool for the purposes of replicating the study in your own research.
CCI staff members can use their own experience to structure a similar project for you. Find out how we can work with your team to develop a process that enables your organization to use this tool for conducting valuable research. To read about the process we used, view the article in the AORN Journal. To learn about developing a similar project for your organization, contact Shannon Carter, CCI Chief Executive Officer, at scarter@cc-institute.org.
