Deadlines
Application: All eligible candidates for recertification must submit their application online by July 1st of the year they are due to recertify. CCI is currently accepting recertification applications from CNORs whose credential expires in 2012. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2012.
Contact Hours: If you are recertifying by CE, your contact hours must have been earned by December 31, 2011.
Exam: If you are recertifying by Exam, you must successfully pass the CNOR exam by December 31, 2012. Thus, you must apply to take the CNOR exam no later than September 30, 2012.
Portfolio: If you are recertifying by Portfolio, your activities must have been completed by December 31, 2011.

Keep in mind that this fee maintains your credential for five years. Thus, the annual cost to recertify is only $42 - $75 depending on the recertification method.
Grace Period and Late Fees
Late recertification applications will be accepted with an additional $75 late fee in accordance with the following policies.
Contact Hours: Your CE recertification application must be received by December 31, 2012. However, this extended grace period is not an extension of the time allowed to accrue contact hours. Your required CEs must have been earned by December 31, 2011.
Points: Your Points recertification application must be received by December 31, 2012. However, this extended grace period is not an extension of the time allowed to accrue activities. Your required activities must have been completed by December 31, 2011.
Exam: If you are recertifying by exam, you must successfully pass the CNOR exam by December 31, 2012. Thus, you must apply to take the CNOR exam no later than September 30, 2012.
Portfolio: There is no grace period for the Portfolio method. Applications must be received by July 1, 2012, and activities must have been completed by December 31, 2011.
If your late application is received with the $75 late fee and you have met all the requirements for recertification, you will be recertified with no lapse in your certification status. Applications received after December 31 will be declared ineligible.
