About Retired Status
Retired CNORs and CRNFAs can obtain CNOR Emeritus status, or CNOR(E), and CRNFA Emeritus status, or CRNFA(E). The CNOR(E) emeritus status was established in 1995 and CRNFA(E) emeritus status in 1999 to recognize retired operating-room nurses’service to their profession, as well as their achievement and maintenance of the CNOR or CRNFA credential.
These credentials recognize CNORs and CRNFAs who have retired from professional nursing but wish to maintain their credentials. CNOR(E) status is retroactively extended to CNORs who have been retired since 1984.
