ID Requirements

When you arrive at the testing center, you must present TWO forms of identification. The first acceptable ID must be CURRENT (not expired) and contain a recent RECOGNIZABLE photograph and your SIGNATURE.

These are acceptable forms of identification:

  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • Driver's license

  • The identification above MUST be issued by the national government in the country where you're testing, or if you're using a driver’s license, by a state or province of the country in which you're testing. If your government-issued identification is not from the country in which you're testing, please present your current (not expired) passport for identification. The name you use to register for the exam must match the name on your ID. The second form of identification must include your signature.

You may not use a Social Security card as any form of identification.

Canadian citizens may present a valid Canadian driver’s license or Provincial Citizenship card with a current recognizable photo and signature. If your passport is not written in English, you must present ONE additional form of identification that contains a recent recognizable photo from the list below. One of the IDs must be written in English and one must contain your signature. Both IDs must be current.

  • Driver's license
  • National ID
  • Military ID
  • Student ID – photo and signature-bearing letter confirming your identity from the educational institution you currently attend or attended in the past.

  • If the testing center administrator questions your identification, you may be asked for additional proof of identity. You may be denied access if the testing center administrator is not convinced you have proven your identity.

Admittance to the test center and examination does not imply that your identification is valid or that your scores will be reported.
