CNOR/CRNFA E-Practice Tests (Online)
CCI's e-practice tests are derived from a comprehensive, research-based blueprint covering the knowledge and skills necessary to work in pre-, intra-, and postoperative care. Designed to give potential candidates a sense of how actual exam questions are structured, these tests highlight a candidate's strengths and weaknesses in the subject matter, making it easier to plan and prepare for the certification examination.
While some practice questions have appeared on previous examinations and others were written specifically for the e-practice tests, all conform to the specifications of the actual CNOR and CRNFA exams — both in terms of content and average difficulty level.
These tests can also be used for assessing the knowledge and skills of nurses entering the surgical setting. To adapt the tests for new employee assessment, please contact Mary O’Neale at moneale@cc-institute.org.
E-Practice Tests and Fees
- CNOR exam – This consists of two e-practice tests, each with 50 questions.
- CRNFA exam – This consists of one e-practice test with 50 questions.
The fee for each test is $40 and is payable by Visa, MC, or American Express through the practice test site. You can view some sample questions or sign up for an e-practice test through CCI.
E-Practice Guidelines
You can access the e-practice tests of your choice for 24 continuous hours (for example, from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday). Although the 24-hour period begins the moment purchase is confirmed, there's no limit to the number of times you can log in and out of the practice test during that period. Once you've completed an e-practice test, your scores are recorded and saved. Please note that the e-practice test forms don't change: the same questions appear in the same order each time.
The items on the e-practice tests are available in two modes:
- Exam mode – After completing all 50 items, you'll find out how many questions you answered correctly or incorrectly; for every incorrect response, you'll get an explanation of the correct answer.
- Study mode – This mode provides immediate feedback after each item is completed. In addition to finding out whether your answer was correct or incorrect, if you answered incorrectly you'll get an explanation of the correct answer. You'll also be given the reference that was used to write the question.
- Once you've completed the test, you may experience a minor delay while the exam is being scored.
Note: The CNOR and CRNFA e-practice tests are the property of CCI and the Chauncey Group International. Duplication in whole or of parts of these tests or sharing them with others is prohibited. A candidate's performance on the e-practice tests does not guarantee similar performance on the actual examination.
